Chickie's & Pete's Northeast
The Chickie's & Pete's story dates back to 1977 when Pete's parents, Peter and Henrietta, purchased a small neighborhood taproom on Robbins Avenue, in Mayfair. Young Pete started experimenting with seafood recipes and one result was his "crab fries" which became the first of several patented dishes. The restaurant was a roaring success for many years and, in 1998, Chickie's & Pete's opened at Veterans' Stadium. Ciarrocchi purchased the real estate and converted the space to a 750-seat restaurant with a 70-foot bar, 12-foot TV screen and over 100 employees. This South Philadelphia location is a stone's throw to the stadium complexes and was recently voted #3 sports bar in the country by ESPN.
