If having dinner out is in the cards for this week, aim for a Thursday reservations. Not only will going out to dinner be filling and fun, depending on the company, it will also be for a good cause. This Thursday, April 28, make a reservation at one of the participating Dining Out for Life restaurants.
Dining Out for Life is an international fund raising event to benefit AIDS and HIV services. It was actually started in 1991 by an ActionAIDS volunteer, here in Philadelphia. Over the past 20 years, the event has grown to incorporate over 3,500 restaurants in more than 55 cities throughout the United States and Canada.
Here in the Philadelphia area, over 200 restaurants in will be participating in this year’s Dining Out for Life, donating 33% of all sales to fight HIV and AIDS. All proceeds from Philadelphia’s Dining Out for Life go to benefit local AIDS and HIV services at ActionAIDS, Dooley House, AIDS Delaware, Family and Community Services of Delaware County, Planned Parenthood Association of Bucks County and Planned Parenthood of Chester County.
