Beer tastings and wine tastings are becoming a thing of the past. With the fall weather nipping at our doors it’s time to warm up and try something new in Philly with a hard cider tasting! This Saturday marks the first annual Pour The Core: A Hard Cider Festival at the Navy Yard.
Sample over 30 of the finest locally produced and internationally sourced ciders and perries (cider made from pears). Brands we know and love such as Angry Orchard and Woodchuck will accompany imported products from England, Ireland, and Sweden. As a special bonus for those who know very little about ciders special seminars about cider, the making of cider, and the enjoyment of cider will also be at this event!
This event will take place rain or shine under a tent and will also include food for purchase and music. And if you’re not sold by the music, informational seminars and delicious variety of hard ciders maybe raising money for a great cause will convince you! Proceeds will go to the Committee to Benefit the Children.
Tickets are on sale at an online advanced sale for $40. Event day prices are $65 and for those who want to be responsible Designated Drivers free water bottles and access to seminars are priced at $10. The first pour begins at 1:00pm and tasting continues until 5:00pm. All attendees must be 21+.
